Autumn Colors Mirror

I try to  re-use as many materials as possible in my work. I will find items at yard sales, thrift stores, etc. and incorporate them into my work. It makes me feel good to save something from the landfill and add a bit of color to the world at the same time. Both this piece and the “Blue Curves” were created from re-purposed bases (mirrors with wood frames). Other materials in this piece include stained glass and sea glass.

“Autumn Colors” was an inspiration during (you guessed it) the fall, when the leaves were doing what they do every year, turning the neighborhood into a blaze of color that reminds me why I moved north in the first place.
