So, there seems to be a pattern here. Maybe it’s just that I had a few mirrors that screamed to be mosaic-ed (is that a word?) This one was created in the frostiness of winter, inspired by the beauty that only comes from frozen mornings and falling snow.
The border is clear sea glass, the rest of the piece was done in stained glass. I used gray grout to create harmony and continuity. The choice of grout can completely alter the feeling of a mosaic, and must be considered carefully. If the grout is similar in color to the tesserae, you achieve balance. If I had used black or another dark grout, it would have resulted in more of a stained-glass effect.
